EpiPen ® and EpiPen Jr ® (epinephrine) Auto-Injectors are indicated for the emergency treatment of anaphylactic reactions in patients who are determined to be at increased risk for anaphylaxis, including individuals with a history of anaphylactic reactions. Selection of the appropriate dosage strength is determined according to patient body weight.
Since the dose of epinephrine delivered from EpiPen Jr ® is fixed at mg, the physician can consider other forms of injectable epinephrine if doses lower than mg are felt to be necessary (e.g., for children weighing less than 15 kg). Dosing in children (>30 kg): The EpiPen ® Auto-Injector mg (adult formulation) is recommended.
EpiPen and EpiPen Jr are for immediate self (or caregiver) administration and do not take the place of emergency medical care. You should get emergency help right away after using EpiPen and EpiPen Jr. • EpiPen and EpiPen Jr are for people who have been prescribed this /
